Speaking with the Heart

Aloha Two Bears,

Ya know, Clark's "Hawaiian Magic" is getting more and more interesting by the chapter. In ch.19 where he emphasizes the importance of speaking with the heart, with emotion he says that our prayer will not be as effective without it. I understand the need for laser like focus when forming a prayer picture and doing a ha rite but from what clark is saying in the book I feel like I'm missing one more needed ingredient
in order to bake the perfect cake, if you will.
Would you please elaborate on this?

Here I think the kahuna's ability to explain to Mr. Wilkerson, or Mr. Wilkerson did not get it comes into play.

I think the real message was to enlist the emotions of the unihipili to charge the prayers.

The way to do this would be to choose a prayer picture that the unihipili would become emotional over.

What you said above really hit it home for me. I sometimes had problems with charging prayers with enough emotional power, and wondered why. Now I know.
I must give more thought to choosing the prayer picture that my Unihipili would go all emotional. That was it! Thanks, 2B.

Max and Tommy:

effective prayer can only take place when BOTH the unihipili and uhane are in harmony.

This is why prayer pictures must be chosen carefuly.

Two Bears,
Hmm, could you give us some examples?
I later wanted to edit my earlier post about this as I have a pretty good grasp on the need for an emotionally charged prayer.
I came across some old notes I had from quite a few years back from a spiritual medium and she said..to bring a stronger emotion to what you are wanting. The thing I'm not getting here is that when we are in the silence and focused on a relaxed 4 count breath to build a mana surcharge where do we gather up the emotion to send the prayer picture up to our aumakua? I mean...if I'm doing a ha rite and i'm sitting relaxed in the silence I'm not getting too emotional. Ex. If I have a clear focus on healing an injury and seeing it completely healed then I would find a picture(one that is emotional) to include with that already healed injury? I feel my attention is split. NOW...if I was doing
a tribal dance around a bonfire then I could really build up some massive emotion. I can see now why the hawaiians and native americans danced with so much emotion.
 I'm Confused!

1. Visualize yourself absolutely happy with the injury healed.

2. visualize yourself happy with the new job.

3. visualize yourself hapily driving the new car.

By choosing a prayer picture that evokes emotion of the unihipili

I do not always select a prayer picture that evokes emotion; but most of the times my prayer pictures evoke emotion.

Here is a real incident that happened a year ago when I was giving a HUNA workshop in Atlanta.

En attendee Joy H. had fallen and hurt her foot badly a few days earlier. During one of the breaks she asked me to do a healing for her foot. I did the ha rite, and visualized her walking pain free, and after 3 minutes; ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WAS HAPPENING. So I asked her what activity she enjoyed that the injury was blocking her from doing. at first; she was reluctant, and finally sheepishly admitted that she liked to dance. I did another Ha rite and changed the prayer picture to her dancing. After 2-3 minutes; this big smile broke out on her face, and she said and I quote "Two Bears: I don't know what just happened; but I felt something shift in my foot." The secret was changing the prayer picture from walking; to doing an activity her unihipili enjoyed.

quote:

I feel my attention is split. NOW...if I was doing a tribal dance around a bonfire then I could really build up some massive emotion. I can see now why the hawaiians and native americans danced with so much emotion.

I find I can build uo as great a mana surcharge as dancing. Often I build up surcharges until I am physicaly shaking.

I'm Confused!

I hope the answers dispells the confusion.

Yes!! Thank you!
Now I have a BETTER picture.
Next time I will envision myself as Brad Pitt and I'm being mobbed by a group of
horny young women and there is lingerie flying everywhere. Ha! Ha! Ha!! emoticon
No, all kidding aside, that clears things up cause I know what my unihipili likes.
Two Bears, you have a magnetic personality! emoticon

If that prayer picture works for you and evokes emotion as you gather a mana surcharge; go for it!

I will use the prayer pictures that works for me as an individual.

I, too, had problems with prayer pictures. In the end I've taken to going into the silence and asking my Unihipili to show me the prayer picture that we should focus on for that moment. I find it usually works, sometimes you get thrown into a picture you totally did not expect!

More recently, with more practice I've managed to pray successfully for extra financial relief, a new job, the health of myself and my family and an easier homelife. I still find HUNA awesome.

Jax:

It is fine to ask the unihipili to suggest a prayer picture; but the uhane should choose what is to be prayed for instead of the unihipili because the uhane is older and wiser than the unihipili, and offers logic and reason instead of the animalistic nature of the unihipili that is ruled by emotions.

I am VERY glad to hear this.

I agree completely that Hawai'ian mysticism is VERY powerful.

I could not imagine going back to my life the way I used to be.
