Re: Breathing!

There's one thing I don't quite understand about the breathing in sets of four. How do you end a set of four breaths? Following Lewis' breathing pattern in the silence, do you breathe 1-1-2 four times and then one breath of 1-2? And then you start over again?

Lilelord breathing in sets of four means s set of four breaths 1,2,3,4. then on the next breath go back to 1 and take four breaths, then take another four breath, then take another series of four breaths.

A total of 16 breaths. this way you don't lose counting your breaths at 13.

So there isn't really a pause or a stop in the breathing? You just count four breaths and then you start over again?

Thanks for your answer 2B!

No. It is just 16 breaths. Many of the numbers from 1-16 has two or three sylables, and some people lost count when they are breathing in 13, 14, and 15.

Most authors determined it was better to count 1 - 4 and start over at 1. All of those only have one sylable.

It was my pleasure to help.

Dear 2Bears,

I must respectfully disagree with your statement that there are two worlds, the physical and the spiritual. As I see it there is only one world, we simply shift from one viewpoint to another when we decide which level of abstraction we want to look at. This is a view I absorbed from my study of QBL, where the "Four Worlds" are regarded as simply a device to sort things out; the official teaching is that all four worlds are completely present in the world of Assiah.

One of the teachings that I strive to keep present in my mind at all times is that everything that exists is present right here and right now, wherever here may be and whenever now may be. (I don't often succeed in that endeavor, but sometimes it just sneaks up on me and hits me with a powerful jolt that is one of the peak moments I live for--like a spiritual orgasm.)

This is partly due to my belief that all we really know for sure is what we have experienced. The clever models that we come up with are just our own constructions that we use to try to make sense of things; we can prove none of them, only what we experience is real for us.

I apologize again. ('emoticon'); In my short time here, I have seen what a great teacher you are. If I am mistaken on this, please enlighten me.

We can agree to disagree without becoming disagreeable.

There is the world of matter that world people experience through the five sences.

Then there is the world of energy or the non physical that most of the people do not see and experience.

When one leaves the world of matter and enters the world of non physical reality; that would be just as foreign to them as if they went to another planet even though they did not actualy go anywhere. By using the analogy of two worlds; it gives people a frame of reference

Are you talking of the Kabbalah or Qabbalah? I have explored the Kabbalah; and the more I study it; the less I seem to understand. I have found several versions of the kabbalah, and I don;t waste my time with it anymore because I don't know which one to accept as true.

There is the Kabbalah of some Rabbis such as Rabbi David Aaron, then there is another Kabbalah of other Rabbis Yehuda and Michael Berg of the Kabbalah center that Madona is into, then there is the new age kabbalah by new age writers like Ted Andrews, then there is the occultist version of the Kabbalah from the 18th and 19th centuries.

I walked away from the Kabbalah, and gave all of my Kabbalah books away, and walked into Hawai'ian mysticism where I could have personal experiences that guide me on my path.

One of the books I read of the Kabbalah stated the universe had 10 dimensions originally, and shortly after creationl rge upper six dimensions collapsed; leaving only four dimensions, the three dimensions of height, width, depth and time.

I don't see me as a great anything. This path answered most of my spiritual questions, and gave me a real peace. I am just sharing it with others when I can.
